外國同事問你對某件事情的看法，你對這件事實在沒有甚麼意見，那你要怎樣用英文回應?

“I’ve never given it much thought” 是「我沒有認真想過這件事」的意思，表示你沒認真想過這件事，所以沒甚麼意見。

(1)A: Who do you think should get the promotion? Jason or Martha?A: 你覺得誰應該升職? Jason還是Martha?

B: I’ve never given it much thought. I don’t know much about them.B: 我對這事沒甚麼意見，我不太認識他們。

“Opinion”是「意見」的意思，所以 ”I have no opinion on the matter” 就是很直接的表示「我對這件事沒有意見」。

(2)A: What do you think about the trade war between the US and China?A: 你對美中貿易戰有甚麼看法?

B: I have no opinion on the matter. It doesn’t seem to affect me.B: 我對這事沒甚麼意見，好像對我沒甚麼影響。

這句話在字面上的意思是「我沒有強烈的感覺」，也就是說你沒有甚麼特別意見。

(3)A: Our boss has plan to expand our office. What do you think about that?A: 老闆有擴張辦公室的打算，你覺得如何?

B: I don’t have strong feelings about it because I work from home most of the time.B: 我沒甚麼意見喔，因爲我大都是在家裡工作。

(4)A: The red sofa looks good, but I also like the blue one. Which one do you think is a better fit for our home?A: 那張紅色沙發很好看，但是我也喜歡藍色的，你覺得那一張比較適合我們家?

B: I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other.B: 我對兩個顏色都沒甚麼意見。

“I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other” 的另外一個說法是 “I don’t have strong feelings either way.”。

(5)A: Would you rather have Japanese food or Italian food for dinner tonight?A: 今晚你想吃日本菜還是意大利菜?

B: I don’t have strong feelings either way.B: 我沒有甚麼意見。[我都可以]

“I don’t care…” 跟 “I don’t have strong feelings…” 的意思基本上是一樣，但是 “I don’t care…”比較口語化，比較適用於朋友間的對話，對於沒有很熟的人或者是上司，感覺沒有很適合。

(6)A: Let’s go out for dinner. Do you want Japanese food or Italian food?A: 來，我們出去吃飯，你想吃日本菜還是意大利菜?

B: I don’t care either way.B: 我沒啥意見。

還有一點要注意的是，”I don’t care…” 是美式英語的說法，跟英國人這樣說，他們可能會覺得你很粗魯喔。
